The Alliance invites you to a grand opening reception for the Island's newest hot spot, Water Taxi Beach, on Friday, July 10. A happy hour from 6 to 8 will feature a gorgeous sunset (we hope) and incomparable harbor views (we promise). Be among the first to explore this all-new café and performance space.
We will honor Tom Fox, founder and CEO of Harbor Experiences, the Water Taxi's parent company. Mr. Fox has played a pivotal role in the creation of the Water Taxi fleet and its several beaches, as well as Brooklyn Bridge Park and Hudson River Park. Please join us in saluting this important New Yorker.
The Water Taxi party, co-sponsored by Emerging New York Architects (ENYA), will be the second GIA event for young professionals. ENYA is the young professionals group of the New York Chapter of the AIA, and a member of the Governors Island Alliance Young Members. More than 100 of these young design, architecture and real estate professionals came to the Island last fall for drinks in the Admiral's House.
Tickets for the beach party and happy hour are $50 for you and a friend. Bring one. Reserve here or e-mail Elizabeth Case. Pay online by credit card or at the door by cash or check. All funds raised will go towards free public programs on the Island and the Alliance's advocacy work. Details about ferry connections have not yet been announced.
