GIPEC Director of Real Estate Jon Meyers took more than 50 artists and restaurateurs on a tour July 30 through sites covered by Requests for Proposals issued earlier in the month. The 37 artists were shown through a selected area of Building 110 (close to the ferry landing). GIPEC anticipates a year-round program including exhibition space and open studios where visitors can see completed work and works in progress. The 27 restaurateurs saw the space designated for dining and entertainment --a covered area with seating for 500-800, facing the harbor and Lower Manhattan. Details of the proposals, due August 28, have not been released.
