Monday, December 9th, 6 – 8PM. The reception is hosted by The Durst Organization.
The Island saw a record number of visitors this summer, and broke ground on a transformative new park plan that introduces 30 new acres of recreational park space, a brand new set of seawalls, long-awaited potable water pipes from Brooklyn, and a revitalized historic district. Stunning new landscapes with trees, hills, gardens and hammocks will beckon visitors in even greater numbers. Come next summer, the Island will welcome visitors seven days a week! Without a doubt, our favorite Island park is well on its way to becoming one of New York City’s most unique and beloved summer destinations – and we’re only getting started.
The reception will offer a chance to learn more about the Island’s current and planned developments and to learn more about the new proposed tenants for the historic district. We are also especially excited to take this opportunity to introduce and recognize our Young Professionals Committee, who are leading the charge to make the Island an even more vibrant and accessible destination.
